This research examines the development of children's imagination and creativity in arithmetic education using the abacus at Tambelangan 1 Elementary School, Tambelangan District, Sampang Regency. The arithmetic teaching method that involves the use of the abacus is integrated to enhance the imaginative and creative potential of students in understanding mathematical concepts. This study analyzes the positive impact of abacus usage on the development of children's imagination and creativity, involving their active participation in the learning process.
The research results indicate a significant improvement in the arithmetic skills and creativity of children after the implementation of this method. They develop a better understanding of mathematical concepts and can relate them to everyday life situations. Furthermore, the use of the abacus also stimulates children's ability to creatively solve problems and generate innovative solutions.
This study supports the idea that the approach to arithmetic education using the abacus can be an effective tool in stimulating the development of children's imagination and creativity. The implications of this research can be used as a guide to enhance the quality of mathematics education in elementary schools and develop more engaging and interactive teaching strategies.
