Abstract

Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the impact of using the abacus learning method on improving students' computational abilities at SDN Gunung Sekar 2, Sampang, East Java. An experimental method was employed, with one class group serving as the research subjects. Over several months, students underwent training using the abacus learning method.

The research results demonstrate that the utilization of the abacus learning method significantly enhances students' computational abilities. Statistical analysis reveals a substantial difference between the group that underwent abacus learning and the control group that did not. Students who utilized the abacus learning method experienced substantial improvement in their understanding of basic mathematical concepts and computational skills.

These findings underscore the importance of integrating the abacus learning method into the elementary school mathematics curriculum as an effective tool for enhancing students' computational abilities.
